What Is T3C?

The Third Choice (T3C) is a shift of posture and perspective which changes our thinking, our actions, and our response to women and men facing a pregnancy decision. A set of principles, T3C enables individuals to take personal responsibility for meeting the physical, emotional, material, and relational needs of women and men facing a pregnancy decision.

T3C Principles

T3C Is Non-Political

The Third Choice (T3C) is a set of principles that enables individuals to go beyond the politics of pro-life vs. pro-choice in order to take personal responsibility for meeting the physical, emotional, material, and relational needs of women and men facing a pregnancy decision.

T3C Is Non-Manipulative

Everyone has an opinion about the choice that is made by a friend or family member facing a pregnancy decision. And whenever there are opinions about what is best, there is a temptation to control the outcome by manipulation or pressure. Enabling a healthy choice requires creating a safe environment where the priority is valuing the individual—not controlling their decision.

T3C Is Relational

Relationships with others enable us to feel loved and valued—offering stability in the most uncertain of times. Women and men facing a pregnancy decision often feel overwhelmed, lonely, and isolated from others. Relationship restores hope by recognizing their dignity, acknowledging their thoughts, fears, and emotions, and becoming the solution for their needs.

T3C Approach

Restore

T3C restores the focus of our actions, discussion, and resources onto serving the individual facing a pregnancy decision.

Recognize

T3C recognizes the value and dignity of the individual walking through the decision process and responds to them with love and compassion.

Reclaim

T3C reclaims responsibility of care for those facing a pregnancy decision from a political arena and returns it to communities, families, and individuals.

Promote

T3C promotes solutions and care which alleviate the pressures that cause many women and men to feel a lack of confidence or control in their choice.

Equip

T3C equips people from all backgrounds and beliefs to identify their biases and to grow in an awareness of self and others.

Mobilize

T3C mobilizes communities everywhere to go beyond the tensions and politics of culture in order to be present in the lives of those facing a pregnancy decision.
